Music and fashion go hand in hand so I'm very excited that one of my favourite reality series Project Runway Canada is coming back for a second season.
I'm specially excited this season because my friend Sunny Fong is one of the 14 Canadian designers who will be battling it out to for the top design prize.
Sunny is a Toronto born designer who skipped formal training altogether. "The first piece I ever designed was a dress for my friend in high school, " he recalls. "It was an imitation of a piece from Versace's dominatrix period."
Sunny had his own label Vawk, for a few year and during that time earned fashion kudos for his "mean bias cuts" and "ultimately feminine" styles. "My goal has always been to create designs that are clean, detailed and sexy." Sunny sas that he thrives on working on deadlines, but will he crack under the pressure? We'll just have to watch and see.
Project Runway Canada makes its primetime debut January 27 at 10p.m. ET/PT on Global.
Catch encore presentations Saturdays on Slice at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT.

The song has already upset family groups in Australia, who called for a widespread radio ban on the tune, and now the Parents Television Council (PTC) bosses have followed suit.
Parents are complaining to radio stations who are playing "If U Seek Amy" because they feel that the song is obviously referring to a sexual relationship.
Many are urging radio stations not to play the third track from Britney's 'Circus' album between the hours of 6 and 11pm.
“There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song. It’s one thing for a song with these lyrics to be included on a CD so that fans who wish to hear it can do so, but it’s an entirely different matter when this song is played over the publicly owned airwaves, especially at a time when children are likely to be in the listening audience,” said Tim Winter, the president of the PTC.
So far, the outcry from parents has not been given much attention from public radio stations as several US top 40 stations are playing the song in heavy rotation, and it currently sits at Number 92 on Billboard's Pop 100 chart.
Kylie Minogue will host this year's BRIT Awards with comedians James Corden and Matthew Horne.
The Australian singer will join the two stars of BBC sitcom Gavin And Stacey at London's Earls Court to hand out gongs next month.
The show will feature live performances from Kings Of Leon, Duffy and Girls Aloud, with more acts set to be announced.
Two awards have already been revealed with Pet Shop Boys set to pick up Outstanding Contribution To Music and Florence and The Machine snagging the Critics' Choice award.
The rest of the winners will be unveiled on February 18.

Britney is expected to sign a contract worth nearly $14 million US to write her life story, reports FemaleFirst.
The singer plans to write the first of a series of books that will reveal details of her crazy life, once she wraps up her tour called The Circus Starring: Britney Spears.
The star could be writing up to five books over the course of a decade.
A source stated, "There have been numerous unofficial biographies printed about Britney, but she's never agreed to pen her own tome - until now.
The source added, "If the deal goes ahead she will write between three and five books throughout the next decade - it's one of the most lucrative book deals in showbiz history."
Lets hope the books are full of juicy revelations.
Amy Winehouse is starting her own record company called Lioness.
Amy is getting ready to launch her own record company, and her first artist will be her goddaughter, Dionne Bromfield, reports NME.com.
The star reportedly invested a little over $1.4 million US to get her record company off the ground. The first album to be released by the Lioness label will be Bromfield's in March.
Amy recorded a duet for Dionne's album, and also convinced Lady GaGa, Lemar and Eoghan Quigg to collaborate on the project.

Madonna's record label is pulling her videos from YouTube.com.
Several artists, including Madonna, Led Zeppelin and James Blunt, are getting their videos removed from the YouTube Website, following a dispute between their record company and the site, reports FemaleFirst.
Management at Warner Music has decided to remove the artists' promotional videos, after negotiations failed for a new contract with site's owners regarding downloading rights.
"We simply cannot accept terms that fail to appropriately and fairly compensate recording artists, songwriters, labels and publishers for the value they provide," folks at Warner Music stated.
PCD, who will open for Britney during her American tour next year said they would like to record a song with her.
"She's such a legend. She's making her way. And she's the Queen of Pop, along with Madonna, and we want to follow in those footsteps. So, we're excited," said Pussycat Dolls' Melody Thornton.
Nicole Scherzinger added that the group wants to collaborate with Spears because they see her as a friend whom they love and fully support.
Katy Perry regrets a comment that she made about Lily Allen, adding that it was only meant to be a joke.
When Perry was asked to describe herself, she wrote that she was a fatter version of Amy Winehouse, but a skinnier version of Lily Allen.
Lily Allen took offense and in turn took jabs at Katy during a recent interview with UK radio station Capital FM. Well now Katy Perry is apologizing. She told Us Magazine, "Yeah, I made a joke about [that] earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."
It's uncertain if Allen will accept the apology from her rival.
