Parents Television Council Fights to Ban Indecent Britney Song

An association of parents in the U.S. has deemed the new Britney Spears song "If U Seek Amy" too indecent.

The song has already upset family groups in Australia, who called for a widespread radio ban on the tune, and now the Parents Television Council (PTC) bosses have followed suit.

Parents are complaining to radio stations who are playing "If U Seek Amy" because they feel that the song is obviously referring to a sexual relationship.

Many are urging radio stations not to play the third track from Britney's 'Circus' album between the hours of 6 and 11pm.

“There is no misinterpreting the lyrics to this song. It’s one thing for a song with these lyrics to be included on a CD so that fans who wish to hear it can do so, but it’s an entirely different matter when this song is played over the publicly owned airwaves, especially at a time when children are likely to be in the listening audience,” said Tim Winter, the president of the PTC.

So far, the outcry from parents has not been given much attention from public radio stations as several US top 40 stations are playing the song in heavy rotation, and it currently sits at Number 92 on Billboard's Pop 100 chart.

Haha, it's not that dirty. Just a little but she's not actually saying it, it's just a play on words.

Whatever, have you heard that song by Usher Love in this club or something. I goes someething like I wanna make love in this club, in this club, yeah....gonna keep it cumming or something like that. How come no one's making a big deal of that and it's very clear what he's singing about. Parents are just using Britney as a scape goat.
