Madonna Disappears from YouTube

Madonna's record label is pulling her videos from YouTube.com.

Several artists, including Madonna, Led Zeppelin and James Blunt, are getting their videos removed from the YouTube Website, following a dispute between their record company and the site, reports FemaleFirst.

Management at Warner Music has decided to remove the artists' promotional videos, after negotiations failed for a new contract with site's owners regarding downloading rights.

"We simply cannot accept terms that fail to appropriately and fairly compensate recording artists, songwriters, labels and publishers for the value they provide," folks at Warner Music stated.

Katy Perry Apologizes to Lily Allen

Katy Perry regrets a comment that she made about Lily Allen, adding that it was only meant to be a joke.

When Perry was asked to describe herself, she wrote that she was a fatter version of Amy Winehouse, but a skinnier version of Lily Allen.

Lily Allen took offense and in turn took jabs at Katy during a recent interview with UK radio station Capital FM. Well now Katy Perry is apologizing. She told Us Magazine, "Yeah, I made a joke about [that] earlier this year. I was just kind of joking and trying to be funny. I didn't mean anything by it. Comedians are not necessarily to be taken super seriously."

It's uncertain if Allen will accept the apology from her rival.

Adele Responds To Grammy Nomination Criticism

Adele has clarified her position on her Grammy award nominations, after reports suggested she did "not want to win" one of the prizes.

The London-born singer says that comments she made to BBC 6Music have been misinterpreted, and has reaffirmed her respect for the ceremony.

Earlier this month Adele said: "I imagine it's like winning an Oscar and I don't think on this record I should get one.

"I think it should be with my second or third record that I should get the Oscar, like from your third or fourth film when you're amazing".

Putting the matter to rest on her official blog, Adele said: "That's absurd, of course I want to win one!

"I was trying to say that I think a Grammy is music's Oscars. You win an Oscar when you give a performance of your life, and I find it hard to think of my album like that".

"I can't be like 'Yeah I so deserve it', that would make me sound like a prick! I'm over the moon!"

Adele has been nominated for four awards: Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for 'Chasing Pavements', as well as Best New Artist.

Beyonce - Single Ladies on The Tyra Banks Show

I found this clip of Beyonce performing her hit song "Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)" live on the Tyra Banks show a while back.

Like everyone else I'm obsessed with the dance choreography and I particularly like this performance because she's got male dancers this time around (not the kind she had on SNL).

This clip also proves that Tyra and Beyonce are not one and the same but they sure look like they could be sisters.  Enjoy!

Sugababe Says Girls Aloud Have Bigger Public Persona

Keisha Buchanan, one third of pop trio Sugababes, says rival group Girls Aloud are obsessed with celebrity.

Keisha insists that she and bandmates Heidi Range and Amelle Berrabah are more concerned with music than media attention, unlike their chart rivals.

In an interview with BBC Radio 1 she said: "With Girls Aloud, they've come from a reality TV show and it's a lot more about being a celebrity. The public persona of theirs is definitely a lot bigger than Sugababes."

The Londoner claims that the music business no longer makes songs the main priority.

"Now it's all about being a celebrity and having the music at the same time. We're not that kind of band", she added.

"Sugababes have been going for 12 years now and that's what we'll continue doing - writing with each other and making music, because that's what's important."

Sugababes' latest album, 'Catfights And Spotlights', is out now.

Lily Allen Declares War on Katy Perry

With her upcoming new album on the way it wasn't going be long before Lily Allen's name started showing up in the gossip columns again.

The latest is that she hates Katy Perry and says that she has no talent.

During an interview with the radio station Capital FM, Lily took the opportunity to put down her competition.

"I happen to know for a fact that she was an American version of me. She was signed by my label in America as, 'We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen."

"And then they found her… I think the lyrics and stuff are a bit crass… When I met her I was bit frosty with her because someone asked her to describe herself. She's like, 'Aha, I'm like a fatter version of Amy Winehouse and a skinner version of Lily Allen!' It's like, you're not English and you don't write your own songs, shut up!"

Those are definitely fighting words. Wonder what Katy's response will be...

Robbie Williams Rumoured For X Factor Spot

Robbie Williams could make a sensational comeback as a judge on The X Factor, a report from the UK's Daily Star suggests.

Simon Cowell is apparently lining the singer up to replace Dannii Minogue after the Australian star fell out with fellow judge Louis Walsh over a dispute concerning song choices.

A source said: “It looks like Simon has decided on his dream line-up and is determined that’s what he will get.

“He’s used to getting his own way so he’ll be going all out to get Cheryl. Getting Robbie would also be an amazing coup – he’s a megastar.”

But Dannii denied she is to be axed and said: “The producers and Simon tell me I am returning, so that’s all I believe. So unless I hear differently then I’ll be back.”

A spokesperson for the show insisted: “No decisions have been made about contracts and no decisions will be made until next year.

Lily Allen In Trouble Over Britney Cover

I'm sure you've all heard Lily Allen's cover of Britney's "Womanizer" by now but if you haven't you can listen to it above. Lily has now revealed on her official blog that she got in trouble with her record label after Mark Ronson leaked the track.

The Londoner says she didn't intend for her reinterpretation to gather so much exposure, but it was the only song she had to hand when Mark Ronson called her for a favour.

Lily wrote on her official blog: "Some of you may be wondering why I covered "Womanizer". Simple really , I love Britney and I love the song.

"It wasn't my intention for it to have whizzed round the world like it has. Mark Ronson asked me for something no one had heard to play on his radio show and 'Womanizer' was the only song I had as an attachment on my BlackBerry.

"I had asked him to talk all over it so it wouldn't get ripped, but he didn't. Thanks Mark, for getting me in serious trouble with my record company."

After spending much of the latter half of 2008 trying to secure a release date for her second album, It's Not Me, It's You, Lily says that she has high hopes for 2009.

She said: "I am so excited, everything seems to be falling into place and I couldn't be happier. Touch wood."

Lily Allen's new single, 'The Fear' is due for release on 26 January 2009.

Dannii Minogue: Britney Upset Us

Dannii Minogue has slammed Britney Spears for upsetting the X Factor contestants by refusing to meet them after her recent performance on the hit reality talent show.

The Aussie judge blasted Britney for not even saying hello to the contestants, when other acts have held a master class with them.

She told Metro: "They were genuinely excited to be in her presence and she only had to say 'Hi' to five acts.

"At that point, I thought, 'What a shame because you've just crushed those contestants'. She didn't have to be like that."

Dannii also revealed that the singer's had the judges lining up like youngsters waiting for class.

She said: "It was hysterical. We were all like little kids at the principal's office. There were so many security guards and PR people and they had to block the whole corridor before she could come out the door."

Leona Lewis - Run

Here's the video for Leona Lewis' AMAZING rendition of "Run" originally done by Snow Patrol.

While the original was already great Leona just brings it to a whole new level. The combination of the choir and her voice makes this version a million times better. It's one of those epic songs that gives you chills when you listen to it.

The first time she performed it acoustically on the U.K's The Jo Whiley Show the audience was so moved by her rendition that according to the host some people even cried.

This is definitely one of my favourite songs of hers along with "Bleeding Love" and I'm sure it will be a huge hit!

Lady Gaga - Poker Face

Watch the fierceness that is Lady Gaga in her latest video for "Poker Face" the second single from her hugely successful debut album 'The Fame' .

"Poker Face" is one of my favourite songs from her album and is a great follow up to "Just Dance" which was another Lady Gaga and Red One collaboration. The video is shot and styled beautifully as if it were a spread from a fashion magazine. There are rumours that the half naked boy laying on the couch with her is Gossip Girl hottie Chace Crawford. It looks like him but I'm not convinced it's him.

Hilary Duff - Reach Out feat. Prophet

"Reach Out" is the latest single by Hilary Duff. The song uses a sample from Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" and the video version features rapper Prophet. The track is included in Hilary's SECOND best of complication 'Best of Hilary Duff'.

I love this track and the video's pretty kinky considering it's from an ex Disney goody two shoes and the original Miley Cyrus. She even appears blindfolded which was was inspired by Madonna's Erotica video. She's definitely grown up.

Christina Aguilera - Keep Gettin' Better

Check out Christina Aguilera's new video for "Keeps Gettin' Better" the first single released from her greatest hits album 'Keeps Gettin' Better - A Decade of Hits'.

In the song she openly refers to herself as both a “super-girl” and a “super-bitch” and in a recent inteview with Rolling Stone magazine she said “I’m running a business, and sometimes being the boss of your own empire and creation, you have to be assertive. Being a female, that comes with being labeled a ‘bitch’ and given titles that men wouldn’t receive. But if that’s what I’m going to be called by being assertive and knowing who I am and what I want out of life, so be it. I wear that label proudly.”

The greatest Pop duo ever The Pet Shop Boys will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music award at next year's BRIT AwBoldards.

The duo, Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, will receive the prestigious accolade at the ceremony in February, and will close the star-studded event with a live peformance of their greatest hits.

The Pet Shop Boys have sold over 50 million records since signing to Parlophone in 1985. The duo first received a Brit in 1987, winning best British single for the global hit “West End Girls,” and then won best British group the following year. They recently renewed their Parlophone deal.

I'm back!

Hello Pop music fans!!

I'm back from a long and well deserved hiatus during which I took the time to reflect on the direction where I want to take this blog.

The main reason I took a hiatus was because of selfish reasons. Basically the summer was full of social and family events that I had to attend and combining that with my work schedule I had very little time left for myself and my partner.

The second reason I took hiatus was because I read a blog post from one of my favourite independent music artists where she explained how piracy and file sharing had affected her work and livelihood. It made me very sad and it made me think. It also made me realize that I was part of the problem.

So from here on I will no longer do file sharing of songs that are available for purchase. Instead I will provide a link of where you can purchase those songs. Most likely the links will lead you to iTunes my preferred online music store because it's the most economical and it's also the most popular one. It also comes with software that makes it easy to manage your music. If you're as much a music fan as I am the iTunes program will come in VERY handy.

In addtion it is my opinion that if you truly like an artist and you enjoy their work you should support them so they can continue to create more music for your enjoyment. Think about it, is 99 cents a song really that expensive? Coffee is more expensive than that and you'll piss it right out. But a song, a really good song you'll play over and over again.

With that said I will no longer be posting file sharing links to songs that are available for purchase but I will continue to provide links for music that is not available for purchase. Such links will be removed if and when they do go up for purchase. I also will not put up links to full albums.

Being on hiatus doesn't mean I've been out of the loop of what's going on in the world of Pop music so lets catch up a bit. In the next few days I'll be posting some of the music that's kept me dancing during the last few weeks.

Thank you all for reading and keep visiting.

Leona Lewis - Forgive Me

Here's a funky new video by U.K. R&B sensation Leona Lewis for her fourth single "Forgive Me".

The song was co-written and produced by Akon and it's definitely a nice change from her usual ballads. I really wish she did more uptempo Pop songs like this because it really showcases her voice.

Fans of Musicals will notice that the dream sequences in the video were inspired by the Hollywood classics West Side Story, Cabaret, Singin' in the Rain and Carousel.

Dear readers,

I'm very sorry for the lack of updates this month. The month of August has turned out to be a very busy month for me with work and social events. Because of all this I've decided to cut back on the amount daily posts but will instead post a few items one day a week until my hectic life slows back down.

In the meantime please make sure to check the archives for previous posts and for some goodies to download.

Thank you very much for your continued support and I hope you're all enjoying the rest of summer.

The Saturdays - If This Is Love

So there's this new British girl group called The Saturdays that's been brewing for a few months and their hot debut single "If This Is Love" just came out yesterday.

The track features a sample from the Yazoo track "Situation" as the backing rhythm to give it that nice 80's pop sound. I love this song, it's fun, it's cheeky, it's Pop!

I've been reading bout these girls all over as they've been doing some heavy promoting throughout the British media and various music magazines and blogs.

These girls are so hot right now they've even been touring with the current reigning British girl group Girls Aloud.
