Adele Responds To Grammy Nomination Criticism

Adele has clarified her position on her Grammy award nominations, after reports suggested she did "not want to win" one of the prizes.

The London-born singer says that comments she made to BBC 6Music have been misinterpreted, and has reaffirmed her respect for the ceremony.

Earlier this month Adele said: "I imagine it's like winning an Oscar and I don't think on this record I should get one.

"I think it should be with my second or third record that I should get the Oscar, like from your third or fourth film when you're amazing".

Putting the matter to rest on her official blog, Adele said: "That's absurd, of course I want to win one!

"I was trying to say that I think a Grammy is music's Oscars. You win an Oscar when you give a performance of your life, and I find it hard to think of my album like that".

"I can't be like 'Yeah I so deserve it', that would make me sound like a prick! I'm over the moon!"

Adele has been nominated for four awards: Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for 'Chasing Pavements', as well as Best New Artist.
