Madonna's Hard Candy Out Now

Madonna's much anticipated new album "Hard Candy" is out today and it's bound to be another hit for the undisputed queen of Pop.

I gotta admit that I was very concerned when I first read she'd be doing a Hip-Hop album but thankfully my fears have been appeased. The album is full of sweet and sticky tracks, some reminiscent of 70's disco and 80's pop but with a modern urban twist thanks to some great collaborations with Justin Timberlake, Timbaland, Pharrell, and Kanye West.

I have lots of favourites on this one including "She's Not Me", "Beat Goes On" and the upcoming second single "Give It 2 Me". The album has received very positive reviews and it's surely to become a classic.

Having followed Madonna's career over the years has taught me to never expect the same thing twice and "Hard Candy" proves she's far from finished evolving and will continue to surprise and amaze us for many years to come.

Get "Hard Candy" from iTunes or from Amazon.com. I recommend the Special Edition for some extra tracks.

Track Listing:

  1. "Candy Shop" (Madonna, Pharrell Williams) – 4:15
  2. "4 Minutes" (featuring Justin Timberlake) (Madonna, Timothy Mosley, Nate Hills, Justin Timberlake) – 4:04
  3. "Give It 2 Me" (Madonna, Williams) – 4:47
  4. "Heartbeat" (Madonna, Williams) – 4:03
  5. "Miles Away" (Madonna, Mosley, Hills, Timberlake) – 4:48
  6. "She's Not Me" (Madonna, Williams) – 6:04
  7. "Incredible" (Madonna, Williams) – 6:19
  8. "Beat Goes On" (featuring Kanye West) (Madonna, Williams, Kanye West) – 4:26
  9. "Dance 2night" (Madonna, Mosley, Hannon Lane, Timberlake) – 5:03
  10. "Spanish Lesson" (Madonna, Williams) – 3:37
  11. "Devil Wouldn't Recognize You" (Madonna, Joe Henry, Mosley, Hills, Timberlake) – 5:09
  12. "Voices" (Madonna, Mosley, Hills, Lane, Timberlake) – 3:39
What are your thoughts on the new album? Got any favourite tracks?

Rihanna & Maroon 5 Team Up For Collaboration and Ultra-Glam Video

On Wednesday, Maroon 5 and Rihanna joined forces on a Los Angeles soundstage to film a video for a remake of "If I Never See Your Face Again"(originally the lead track on M5's 2007 effort, It Won't Be Soon Before Long) which will appear on reissues of both artists' albums reports MTV.com.

"We're both re-releasing our albums — mine's out June 17," Rihanna told MTV News. "This is the only collaboration on my re-release, because I always wanted to work with Maroon 5. They're one of my favorite bands. When they called me to do this record with them, I was so honored."

"The song was basically done, but we wanted to try something different, so we had her come in and do bits and pieces," Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine added. "It came together so quick. The only other collaboration I had done before was with Kanye, and it was the same way. It sounds cheesy, but if the magic is there, if the chemistry is there, you don't even have to think about it."

A spokesperson for Rihanna's label, Island Def Jam, confirmed that the reissue of her Good Girl Gone Bad album will hit stores June 17. A rep for Maroon 5's label, A&M, couldn't be reached by press time.

Meet Isabel Guzman

Meet one of my favourite up and coming electro/pop sensation Isabel Guzman.

Coming at ya from Sweden this girl has built a name for herself in the realm of virtual space with songs like "All In Your Head", "Wrapped Up In Plastic" and "Love Song".

Here's a portion of her bio from her newly launched website at IsabelGuzman.com:

Her music recalls the darker moments of the 1980's electro soundscape which lives and breathes behind every mirrorball. She also sprinkles remnants of London's 1992 rave records and provides a pop vibration of sheer sonic exhilaration. Both the EP and album contain tracks that pulsate beats which are aimed to get the body dancing, mouth singing and lips smiling.

A Message from Kylie

Hi everyone,

The countdown has begun!! Not long now before opening night for KylieX2008!!!!My cast, crew and I have been working hard to really make this show a 'Spectacular' for you. Full production rehearsals are coming up and we are very excited to merge all the various elements of the show. If you have seen some of the behind the scene footage you will have noticed both new and familiar faces. I will update you with one more peek behind the scenes before we open in Paris, so keep a look out!

I hope you liked the little 'All I See' video we did especially for you! I managed to squeeze in three hours filming at the end of a long day's shooting for the show. Very low-fi, just Willie and Marco (one of my dancers) and a white backdrop. And, as I always say...'When in doubt, apply more glitter!'. Girl can't get enough of a glitter drop!

As all my time seems to be taken up with elaborate and difficult rehearsalsit was fun to do something simple and spontaneous. Back to the studio now and I will check in with you again before May 6th!

Love Kylie x

Good news for Janet Jackson fans! She's hitting the road again. Ms. Nasty recently revealed to E! Online that she'll launch a new world tour on Sept. 11.

"The next big thing on the agenda is prepping for the tour," Janet says. "I'm still promoting the new album [Discipline] right now, but we'll be getting into rehearsals in about a month and then start touring."

She will also be presented with the Vanguard Award at the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation's 19th Annual Media Awards at Hollywood's Kodak Theatre this Saturday.

Asked why she thought she was getting the award she said: "I think it's because of the work I have done related to AIDS, and also just the support that I've given them throughout the years. I'm excited."

In the article she also dicusses why she's a Gay icon, Aids, her crush on Alicia Keys, performing on Broadway and much more.

Mel B has become the new face of Ultimo lingerie. The Spice Girls star shows off her curves in a series of publicity shots for the underwear giant.

Mel said: "I am over the moon to become the face and body of Ultimo lingerie. After taking part in 'Dancing with the Stars' in the US and going on tour with the Spice Girls I have never been in better shape, so I jumped at the chance to do this."

Ultimo's founder Michelle Mone added: "This is girl-power lingerie. I wanted the new face of my latest Ultimo collection to be someone strong, confident and outgoing and, most importantly, to have fire in her belly - and Mel certainly has all of the above."

Ultimo is the leading lingerie brand in the UK, and all products are available at Debenhams department stores and online at http://www.ultimo.co.uk/.

I've been listening to this song by Katy Perry for a couple of weeks and I finally found the video for it. Watch the video for "Ur So Gay" above.

The son'gs alright compared to some of her other songs like "I Kissed A Girl" and "Hot N Cold".

There's also been some controversy that this song is offensive and full of stereotypes and she discussed it on an interview with Out magazine here.

Mariah Tops Elvis Record

Mariah Carey has scored her 18th number one single in the U.S. with her new song "Touch My Body".

The hot single has topped the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, beating out Elvis Presley's previous record by putting her one ahead of the late music legend.

Mariah is now only second to The Beatles, who scored an impressive 20 number one U.S. singles during their career.

The diva was quick to put her achievement into perspective, saying: "I really can never put myself in the category of people who have not only revolutionised music but also changed the world. That's a completely different era and time. I'm just feeling really happy and grateful."

She added: "For me, in my mind the accomplishment is just that much sweeter. In terms of my ethnicity, always feeling like an outsider, always feeling different, for me it's about saying, 'Thank you Lord, for giving me the faith to believe in myself when other people had written me off.' "

Watch out for Mariah's upcoming album 'E=MC2', which will be released in the UK on April 14th and in the U.S. a day later.
