Melanie C. is Coming To North America

Speaking to Billboard.com Spice Girl Melanie C. revealed that she'll be releasing her latest album This Time in North America this coming April under her own Red Girl imprint.

She said "When I was released from my contract with Virgin, I had options, I could attempt to sign with another major. I could go with an independent or start my own label."

"And having experience with a major label, it was nice to be able to do the exact opposite and own the copyright to my songs," she continues. "I was very fortunate with the Spice Girls; financially, I was able to set up my own label and finance my own record."

Melanie's solo efforts aren't well known in North America yet except by hardcore fans. This Time follows the succes of her solo debut Northern Star in 1999 which was amazing and sold close to 3 million units worldwide. Her next two albums Reason in 2003 and Beautiful Intentions in 2005 were not released in the US.

Melanie describes the style of This Time as "mature pop". The first single off the album will be "Carolyna" which tells the story of a young runaway.

Aparently she's also planning to tour in the U.S. and Canada in support of the album's release.

I'm sooo there!!

Madonna's New Album Has a Title!

Seems like the rumours were true. Madonna's hotly anticipated new album will be titled Hard Candy, and it's official.

The record will drop April 29th and the lead single, 4 Minutes To Save The World featuring Justin Timberlake, will be out at the end of March.

Hard Candy features a track called Candy Store (produced by Pharell Williams).

Madonna chose to stick with the sweet theme because "she loves candy," her longtime rep Liz Rosenberg tells Entertainment Weekly. "It's about the juxtaposition of tough and sweetness, or as Madonna so eloquently expressed 'I'm gonna kick your ass, but it's going to make you feel good.'"

In addition to Timberlake and Pharell, the album features production by Timbaland and Nate "Danja" Hills.

Sounds like she's really going Hip-Hop on this one. I don't know, makes me a bit nervous but as we all know Her Madgesty loves to try new styles and she can pull off anything.

Are you looking forward to the new album?

Spice Girls Bid Farewell in Toronto

The Spice Girls ended their comeback tour last night here in Toronto and I was there!! It was the most AMAZING concert I've ever been to. It was totally worth the ten year wait for their reunion!

The Girls opened strongly with two upbeat, dance-happy numbers, Spice Up Your Life and Stop. Other hightlights were the sexy, white feather fan-enhanced Two Become One, the Flamenco-inspired Viva Forever and the black leather/S&M- drenched Holler.

The Girls brought their kids up on stage during Mama and little Cruz Beckham made an impromptu headspinning breakdance.

Two songs into the show Emma said "Okay, this is going to be an emotional one guys -- it already is,"

"I was already crying before we came up," responded Posh.

"As you know, this is the last night of the tour, we never dreamt we'd get back together and be such a success, and who knows if we'll ever get back together again, so tonight is a special night, let's enjoy every minute of it," said Geri.

Later in the night Mel B. said "You're the best audience ever,".

"I have fallen in love with Toronto, I give my heart to Toronto," said Geri.

"We've got some great fans all over the world, but nothing like here in Toronto," added Posh.

"I'm going to find you a boyfriend here later," said Mel B. to single mom Geri, and she later strapped down a male fan picked out of the audience and did a sexy dance around him during her whip-wielding solo cover of Lenny Kravitz's Are You Gonna Go My Way.

Unfortunately Posh didn't sing a solo but instead did a fierce catwalk down the stage to Rupaul's Supermodel (You Better Work) and she sure worked it, snap, snap, snap!

Emma performed her solo to one of my favourite songs of hers Maybe.

Melanie C. did an amazing solo with lasers and all to I Turn To You one of her greatest hits . She's still the voice of the Spice Girls. Towards the end she also impressed everyone by doing her famous backflip and tumble, at age 34!

All the Girls were great in their solos but the one that really got the crowd going was definitely Geri's hilarious version of It's Raining Men where the group's 10 male dancers whipped off their shirts amid blasts of steam, strobe lights and lightning imagery.

At the end of the concert they hugged and kissed a lot. They thanked their crew, dancers, families and most importantly their fans for their continued support throughout the years. And yes I did shed one or two tears throughout the night.

The whole concert rocked and was wayyy above all my expectations. I hope they recorded it and release it on DVD. Thank you Jay for the tickets and for coming along! I had a blast!!

Did you get a chance to attend any of their tour dates? What did you think of it?

Update: Click here to watch video of Cruz breakdancing last night and Click here to watch Melanie C. do her backflip.

Amy Winehouse Denied Grammy Visa

Amy Winehouse won't be performing at this year's Grammy Awards because her request for a visa was turned down by the U.S. Embassy, her publicist said Thursday.

"Amy has been progressing well since entering a rehabilitation clinic two weeks ago and although disappointed with the decision has accepted the ruling and will be concentrating on her recovery," the Outside Organization, which counts the troubled retro-soul sensation among its clients, said in an e-mail.

The statement didn't say why her application had been rejected but it might just have something to do with all those "incidents" she's had lately.

Christina Aguilera Makes First Public Appearance

Christina Aguilera made her first public appearance since the birth of her son Max on January 12.

People reported that on Tuesday (February 5) the singer signed autographs at the Best Buy store in Hollywood and promoted her new DVD Back to Basics: Live and Down Under.

Earlier that day Christina spoke to Ryan Seacrest on a radio show on KIIS-FM. She said, "I'm very excited [about] this whole incredible thing that's taken place in my life, between the pregnancy and the birth."

She emphasized that all of these changes are inspirational for her work. "I've been brainstorming for the last nine months of my pregnancy. This next album will have a whole new me. A different me."

Can't wait to hear what she comes up with in her next album.

Make sure to buy her DVD at your local DVD store!

Check out the NEW video by Kylie Minogue for "Wow". It was filmed in L.A. along with the video for "In My Arms" at the begining of 2008.
